About us

Hikaya Center for Civil Society Development is a non-profit Jordanian organization established by a group of Jordanian entrepreneur and activist youth who are taking action in civil society, political empowerment, human rights, culture, arts, and education.

Hikaya center aims at empowering the individuals of the Jordanian society and to build youth’s skills as well as engaging them in the political situation, was our Center beliefs in the civil society values mentioning but not limited to; justice, equality, freedom, democracy, dialogue, acceptance of others and the rule of law.

We also play many roles in collecting youth energies to invest it and to find alternatives and initiatives to reach a comprehensive reform respecting citizenship and qualifications through a participatory and consensual approach. In addition to strengthening the concepts of democracy, human rights, and sustainable development.

Our center calls for equality and advocate against racism, we look to manage conflicts without violence and to promote transparency, good governance, and social accountability concepts.

We aim to strengthen the general awareness about child issues through implementing special programs, workshops, TOT in various felids related to child and teen issues. And to be the voice of children among society.

On the other hand, our center has launched the “The Social Initiative to Support the Jordanian State Organizations” for the purpose of contributing to the public work and to make strong relationships and connections with the governmental bodies in order to ease the engagement process between the non-profit and the government. Currently and as a response to the Coronavirus COVID-19 crisis, we have established an operations room to support the government’s reactions towards the virus invasion. The room is focusing on monitoring and reporting the media rumors in order to lessen the social stress on the population, data collection and analysis and reporting to the specialized ministry and regulation the efforts of the civil society initiatives and work in the same crisis management.
